Unigrafia’s studio and video team have moved from Vuorikatu to bright new premises on Pohjoisesplanadi.
The versatile new space has been partly in use since March, and the studio officially opened its doors on 1 April 2022.
Designed by Carl Ludvig Engel and completed in 1820, the Cavonius building has the honour of having hosted moving images before: from 1909 until the 1970s, the legendary La Scala cinema operated on the very site of Unigrafia’s new studio.
Versatile space with excellent transport connections
The new 236-square-metre facilities have been renovated to meet the needs of Unigrafia’s streaming and video production team. Pohjoisesplanadi now boasts an impressive studio that is significantly larger and more adaptable than the previous one on Vuorikatu, easily tailored to suit various events and customer needs.
The brand-new studio still supports the filming and recording of lectures, but it also enables the production of larger-scale webinars, virtual events, panel discussions, and promotional videos—all in the same space. State-of-the-art streaming equipment and an expanded studio make it ideal even for larger panel setups.
The new 20-square-metre video wall allows for the creation of highly customisable performance environments that reflect the client’s brand and visual identity. A digitally created setting is a cost-effective option. You can read more about the virtual studio here.
In addition to the main studio, the space includes smaller working and meeting areas decorated with different themes, a comfortable lounge, and a practical kitchen to support light catering if needed. Alongside modern, multi-purpose facilities, there’s a wide range of props available—from rococo chairs and lush green plants to designer furniture—perfect for building unique backdrops and atmospheres for shoots.
Excellent transport links remain unchanged: trams stop right outside, and the University of Helsinki metro station is just a six-minute walk away. There’s no need to travel beyond the city centre for studio productions or livestreaming.
