The goal of the Smart Building Technologies and Services group is to promote research and education in intelligent solutions within the field of electrical building systems. The group’s research aims to enhance building performance and user well-being through artificial intelligence tools and Internet of Things (IoT) devices.

The client commissioned a main illustration for their website that could also be flexibly used in PowerPoint presentations and on social media. They requested an image that would depict a variety of smart solutions across different building types — such as shopping centres, schools, offices, and homes. This visual helps clearly communicate the scope of the research project.

The illustration was created as a vector image in Adobe Illustrator. It includes a wide range of smart technologies integrated into different settings. The client’s request for versatility guided the design process. The aim was to produce an image that is both visually engaging and easy to understand at a glance.
